CONVERGENT will be a showcase of the murals, there will be live music, food, and an auction of the doors on the building which you will be awarded a percentage of the proceeds for the doors purchased that have a relationship with your mural.
This depends on the # of submissions and the space requirements of the artists selected.
Yes, this show is founded on the idea of seeing the world through the eyes of another, in an effort to strengthen community. We want to understand your hopes and dreams. Take viewers on a journey of your world through the power of the image. We are providing a venue for connecting the independent voices of our community. 1700curry is a family-run business that rents artist, musician, and storage space as it is being transformed into an arts community. This is a space frequented by the public, as such, work of a sexually graphic, or overtly vulgar will not be considered for inclusion in the show.
Photography, Painting, Installation, Sculpture, if you can get it on a wall in the sense of a mural, we will consider it.
Top curatorial selections will be given a small materials stipend to be used on materials only. Artists will receive a portion of the proceeds from the auction of the doors at the close of the show. There will be shared housing available for out of state participants, on a request basis. Let us know if you are interested in this at the time of your proposal. We only have a few spaces available.
You will make your piece at 1700 Curry on the building space provided to you.
Proposals should include space requests. Some may wish to have only 20’ while others may want 80’ of wall space. Size requests will be taken into consideration, but we cannot guarantee you will receive the size of wall you request.
The artist will have access from 7am to Midnight May 10th - 16th , all work will be finished by Midnight on the 16th of May.
In general terms we highly recommend new work that has been specifically thought of for our event and concept.
No, but if it is an installation or a series the proposal may consist of more than one element.
